State of the art facilities

Paul Nicholls Racing operates a network of top-tier training yards, including Manor Farm Stables, Highbridge Yard, and Longhill Lodge, each designed to offer optimal conditions for the preparation of National Hunt racehorses.

More About Our Facilities

Since Paul established Manor Farm Stables in 1991, we have continually invested in our facilities to provide the very best environment for training racehorses.

The Hill Gallop

When Paul first began training at Manor Farm Stables, the hill gallop was the only gallop available. More than 30 years later, it remains an integral part of our daily training routine. The incline helps build strength, stamina and cardiovascular fitness, providing an excellent foundation for every horse in the yard.

The Flat Gallop

In 1995, we added our Martin Collins all-weather flat gallop, which is just over half a mile in length. This is where our horses complete their faster work, allowing us to develop speed in a controlled environment.

The flat gallop is also invaluable for educating our younger horses, introducing them to working at speed alongside other horses before they begin their racing careers, while our older horses complete their regular fast work here throughout the season.

The Training Loops

In 2014, we expanded our facilities with the addition of a 400-metre loop canter, designed in the shape of an athletics track. This versatile facility enables us to work horses over longer distances at a slower, more controlled pace, helping to develop fitness while encouraging keen or headstrong horses to relax and settle into their work.

Running directly alongside is our inner circle, which underwent a complete redevelopment in June 2026. The surface was replaced with premium Wexford sand, specially imported from Ireland.

Together, these two training loops complement one another perfectly, allowing us to tailor each horse’s exercise programme to its individual needs. Whether building strength, improving fitness or focusing on education and relaxation, our facilities enable us to prepare every horse in the safest and most effective way possible.

The Schooling Facility

In August 2026 we built a brand-new 1.4 furlong schooling lane which has been laid with an equestrian services wax track. It will have a line of three Easyfix fences and four Easyfix hurdles, giving us a fantastic new facility for schooling and developing the horses.

It will be invaluable and importantly means we can school them whatever the weather which is something that has become increasingly challenging over recent seasons because of changing weather.

Drimee Sirocco Solarium

Featuring 6 dual-action fans and 12 infrared bulbs, it provides therapeutic warmth to help improve circulation, support recovery and ease muscle soreness and stiffness. Installed in August 2026 and proved to be very popular with our horses immediately.
